About this tool

CSV Viewer & Explorer is a free, in-browser tool that opens a pasted CSV in a clean, sortable, filterable, and paginated table — no upload, no account, and nothing leaves your device. It parses quoted fields correctly and shows live row and column counts so you can inspect a dataset at a glance.

Click any column header to sort ascending or descending (numeric columns sort by value, text columns alphabetically), type in a column's filter box to narrow the rows, and page through the results with an adjustable page size. Sorting and filtering happen entirely on your machine.

Because everything runs locally it is a private, offline-friendly way to peek inside exports, logs, and spreadsheets — including files far larger than a typical editor comfortably shows — without sending sensitive data to any server.

Frequently asked questions

How are delimiters, quotes, and headers handled?
Choose comma, semicolon, tab, or pipe as the delimiter; double-quoted fields (with doubled inner quotes) are parsed correctly so values containing the delimiter survive. When the header box is ticked the first row names the columns, otherwise generic Column N names are used.
How does sorting decide numeric versus text order?
When every value in the sorted column is blank or a valid number the rows sort numerically by value; otherwise they sort as text using locale-aware comparison. Click a header again to reverse the direction.
Do the filters combine?
Yes. Each column's filter is a case-insensitive substring match, and multiple column filters are applied together (logical AND) so you can drill down to specific rows.
Is there a size limit?
The tool guards against extremely large pastes (over about 5 million characters) to keep the page responsive; below that, pagination lets you browse many thousands of rows smoothly.
