Engagement Rate Calculator is a free, in-browser tool that turns raw interaction counts into the engagement rate marketers and creators report. Enter likes, comments, shares and optional saves, pick whether to divide by followers or by reach (impressions), and the rate is computed instantly — nothing is uploaded.
Total engagements are simply likes + comments + shares + saves. The engagement rate is engagements ÷ denominator × 100, where the denominator is your follower count (engagement rate by followers, ERR) or the post's reach/impressions (engagement rate by reach, the stricter, delivery-based measure). If you enter a number of posts, the tool also divides the rate by that count to give an average engagement rate per post.
Use it to benchmark a post or a campaign: by-follower rates are easy to compare across accounts, while by-reach rates better reflect how the people who actually saw the content responded. Both are widely used, so report which one you used.

Should I divide by followers or by reach?
By followers gives engagement rate by follower count — comparable across accounts and the most quoted figure. By reach (impressions) divides by how many people actually saw the post, which is stricter and better reflects content performance. Pick the basis your audience expects and state it.
Do saves and shares count?
Yes. This tool sums likes, comments, shares and saves as total engagements. Saves are optional — leave the field blank or at zero if the platform does not report them. Different platforms surface different actions, so include whatever engagement metrics you have.
What is a good engagement rate?
It varies by platform and audience size, but by-follower rates of a few percent are typical and smaller accounts often see higher rates. There is no universal target — compare against your own past posts and accounts of a similar size rather than a fixed number.
Is my data uploaded?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser; the counts you enter never leave your device and the tool works offline.
