About this tool

Convert a frequency value between nine units, entirely in your browser. Pick the From and To units, type a value, and the result updates live; use ⇄ to swap the units.

The base unit is the hertz (Hz), one cycle per second. Each unit has a factor to Hz, and conversions are value × from-factor ÷ to-factor. Rotational and angular rates are included: 1 RPM = 1/60 Hz ≈ 0.01667 Hz, 1 rad/s = 1/(2π) Hz ≈ 0.15915 Hz, and BPM (beats per minute) is treated like RPM at 1/60 Hz.

Useful for audio, radio, CPU clocks, rotating machinery and music tempo. For example 1 GHz = 1000 MHz, and 60 RPM = 1 Hz.

Frequently asked questions

What is the base unit?
The hertz (Hz), meaning cycles per second. All units convert through it: value × from-factor ÷ to-factor.
How is RPM related to Hz?
Revolutions per minute divide by 60 to give Hz, so 1 RPM ≈ 0.01667 Hz and 60 RPM = 1 Hz.
How does radian/second convert?
One radian per second is 1/(2π) Hz ≈ 0.15915 Hz, since one full cycle is 2π radians.
Is BPM the same as RPM here?
Numerically yes — both are per-minute rates, so 120 BPM = 2 Hz. BPM is provided for music tempo convenience.
