About this tool

The Trivia Question Generator draws random questions with answers from a curated static bank, ready for a quiz, classroom review, or game night. Filter by category — general, science, history, geography, entertainment, sports, or art — and by difficulty (easy, medium, hard), then choose how many questions to draw, from 1 to 25.

The tool selects entries matching your filters and shuffles them with a Fisher-Yates shuffle driven by the browser's cryptographic random generator (crypto.getRandomValues), returning a unique set with no repeats. Each answer is hidden behind a Reveal button so you can quiz a group and show the answer on your own cue. Switch to multiple-choice mode and each question is presented with its correct answer shuffled among three distractors and labeled A-D, with the correct letter revealed on demand. The Copy button exports the whole set as a numbered answer key.

Everything runs locally in your browser from a built-in question bank — there is no live trivia API, nothing is uploaded, and it works offline. Unlike an open-ended prompt generator, every entry here has a definite answer, so you can score a real quiz.

Frequently asked questions

Are the answers shown right away?
No. Each question's answer is hidden behind a Reveal button so you can pose the question to a group first and show the answer when you're ready. The Copy button exports a full answer key for the host.
How does multiple-choice mode work?
In multiple-choice mode each question is shown with four options labeled A-D — the correct answer plus three distractors, shuffled into random order. Reveal shows the correct letter and answer.
Are the questions unique in a set?
Yes. Each draw shuffles the filtered questions with a cryptographic Fisher-Yates shuffle and takes the first N, so no question repeats within a generated set. If a filter is narrow, it returns all available matches.
Does it use a live trivia service?
No. All questions come from a built-in static bank that runs entirely in your browser, so there are no uploads or API calls and the tool works completely offline once the page has loaded.
