Target GPA Planner

See what GPA you must average over your remaining credits to reach a target cumulative GPA.

About this tool

The Target GPA Planner is a free, in-browser tool that tells you what GPA you need to average over your remaining credits to reach a target cumulative GPA. Enter your current GPA, credits completed, target GPA and planned remaining credits — the required average appears instantly.

If the required GPA exceeds the scale maximum, the planner says so plainly: the target can't be reached with those credits, so you would need to take more credits or adjust the target. Supports 4.0, 4.3, 5.0 and 10-point scales, and everything runs locally in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

What formula does the planner use?
Required GPA = (target × (completed + remaining credits) − current GPA × completed credits) ÷ remaining credits — simple algebra on the credit-weighted average.
Why does it say my target is not achievable?
Because the required average exceeds the scale maximum (e.g. above 4.0) — even straight top grades over the remaining credits wouldn't lift your cumulative GPA that far. Add more credits or lower the target.
Do repeated or replaced courses affect the math?
If your school replaces the old grade, adjust your current GPA and completed credits to the post-replacement values first; this planner assumes all completed credits stay in the average.
Is my data stored or uploaded?
No. All calculations run in your browser and nothing you enter leaves your device.
