Which formats can I mute?
MP4 (H.264), WebM (VP8/VP9) and similar files your browser can read, such as MOV. The muted file is written in the same container as the input.
Does muting change the video quality?
No. Muting is lossless — the video stream is copied packet-for-packet and only the audio track is dropped, so the picture is identical to the original.
Is the video uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens locally in your browser; the file never leaves your device and there is no sign-up.
Why might it say my browser isn't supported?
In-browser video processing needs the WebCodecs API. Use a current Chrome, Edge or other Chromium-based browser to enable it.
